The End

Seems I’ve achieved what I set out to do here. Or perhaps I’ve failed miserably. It was fun while it lasted.

We at Trini Fake News hope you do not end your blogging now Mr. Prime Minister. We foresee five more years (or maybe more if that draft constitutions get through - there is still hope) of great leadership under you. We need the insight you have given us into a great mind such as yours. This is the voice of the people praying to you. The voice of god is saying - keep blogging.

Patrick, seems we have both reached our ends. Thank you.

  • 3 Winston Dookeran // Nov 6, 2007 at 11:31 am

    No!

    Don’t give up!

I want to read your blog for the next five years

Good practice for my Dooks 2012 campaign!

All good things come to an end Patos… It all started in in 1956 and now upon the 9th re-election of the PNM I dont blame you for wondering if it was all worth it - …”miserably” is indeed a fitting description of how it has all come to pass. This country had (has?- is that still possible?) the potential to achieve even greater things but as we totter on the brink of the abyss, my only consolation is that tomorrow as we eat our breakfasses, the knowledge that at least some of us tried to vote you out of office and hope for a better T&T is enough to put a smile on my face. All is not yet lost…

  • 8 Shivonne // Nov 6, 2007 at 11:06 pm

You’ve only just begun. There were thousands who cast their votes for change and they need spaces for discourse now more than ever. We need to figure out the way forward as a nation. Analysis unfettered by political and corporate chains can only help us. Doesn’t hurt that it’s funny and readable. Come nah man, you and Paulo Kernahan are our Colbert and Stewart.

Now, Shivonne. We all know Paolo and I are the best. Patos is more like Larry King, or Rosy O’ Donnel, however you spell that name.

  • 13 Mikela // Nov 7, 2007 at 9:30 pm

Dad! How many times do I have to tell you that it is spelled “Rosie O’Donnell”? You should know it by now after all, she is my hero!

Talk about F&F!!! You low-down conniving, cheating cunnilingus addict. You promised me! You promised me!

All you could offer was Ministry of Women’s Affairs? Women’s Affairs? You think I is Kamla or what?

I do not feel honoured by the offer, so you can haul your Royal ass.

I feel so cheap and humiliated!

Extract from Barbados Free Press: On one of your new Ministers, Mariano Browne
    Leviticus
    November 10th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
I congratulate fearless David Thompson, Estwick, Jones and Sealy for a great job in the House. I thank the erudite Freundel Stuart for putting developments in Barbados in context. Denis Lowe has passion and I am voting for him in Christ Church.

I want David Thompson to tell the country about Mariano Browne who is the new Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance in Trinidad and the big sell-out of Barbados by Owen Arthur.

He must not be afraid. Tell the country about the cheques from Mariano to Owen, the Coast Guard Relocation project, GEMS, the Hall oof Justice and all of the other things that Owen Arthur empowered Mariano Browne to do in Barbados!

David, go for it. I know you can do it and the country needs you. You are the only fearless one and you stand tall.

BFP: Investigate Mariano Browne and you will find some stuff that will exceed your space limits!

  • 18 A Scared Indian worried he would be victimized // Nov 10, 2007 at 7:05 pm

    Well done Patos.

At least you knew what real politics entails.

You preyed yet again on Indian self-loathing and petty infighting to form a government with a minority of the votes.

I must warn you though that you are in for challenging times. The anti-PNM masses who voted 4-COP now see that they were used. Something must give in the Opposition over the next 5 years, whether Panday dead, lock up or another strong leader emerges.

As for those in the COP, we can on both sides all safely ignore their dotishness. They will bleat for a few weeks, but which financier does give money for local government elections?

Watch for a stronger opposition in those elections.

Tell your cronies not to spend all the $ they tief dis rounds, save a bit. After all, they $ dey spend will go back in the hands of the very same financiers who backed the COP and are now begging for you to give one ah dem a Senate wuk.

Magnum est PNM est praevalebit !!

I went on a boat cruise on Lake Victoria after we missed our flight at Entebbe airport. Glenda Morean overslept - she probably took a sleeping pill. She was in distress after being told that the end was nigh for her in London. That Bombardier jet is looking more and more attractive.

    By 2020 :-

T&T would be one big massive traffic jam

Streets would be deserted after sundown

    Nightlife would be non-existent

People would pay to play mas in enclosed areas like the Stadium, since the streets would not be safe

Small business would close and send staff home because people would not be able to afford to eat out

Then the Syrians will buy out their properties

    Murders and kidnappings will continue

People will return their cable boxes, and antennas on top of homes will reappear

Price Smart will introduce a Gold Card for PNM friends and family and CEPEP contractors

The Water Taxi project will be promised by 2025

Everyone under 25 will be a graduate of the University of T&T, but will be unemployable anywhere in the world

UTT will still be spending millions on God knows what

A Panday will still control Indian votes

The sugar workers will still be waiting on their lands

Most of their lands will be bought by Syrian businessmen

The Police Service will introduce credit card and ATM facilities at Police Stations for easy payment

High rise buildings in POS will remain unoccupied

The Interchange Project will be stopped until the Commission of Enquiry into corruption is finished

Belgroves will open a kiosk at the Casualty Unit of all the main Hospitals

A doubles will turn into a singles, and be a once a week treat

Kiss Bakeries will introduce a sliced hops

The US and Canada will stop issuing visas to Trinis

Natural gas reserves will run out

Three smelters will be killing our people, but the environmentalists of the NW Peninsula will only be concerned with re-afforestation and landing some big UN job

There will be a demand for Jamaican and Guyanese dollars

The Piarco Airport corruption trial will enter its 2564th day of hearing

Dookeran will write newspaper columns from his home in Canada

Indians will be purged from the public service and Jennifer Baptiste will be smilingly silent

All persons south of the Caroni will have to buy a monthly pass or pay a toll to drive into POS

Manning will be Executive President for life

    The rich will get richer

    The poor will get poorer

    The middle class will disappear

The PNM will continue tiefing and denying that we are a failed State

    WE IN DEEP SHIT !!
